Clutch Players University caught up with the incomparable Boog Brown. She spoke on her love for Hip-Hop, what it means to be a Female emcee within the music industry, her new album 'The Late Bloom,' and many more. Check out the interview!!!!!!!

you briefly describe the moment when you fell in love with rhyming?
Do have any musical influences?
(MP)
Rhyming was always a hobby for me. However, putting my thoughts on
page was just something I was always into, but once I won my first
battle rap I fell in love with rhyming more then ever.

Smalls, and Tupac."

is Microphone Preview?
(MP)
A hustler, family man, leader and one of the most loyal dudes you
will ever meet!

What do you and the Liv Life movement want to accomplish within
Hip-Hop? What are your views on the current state of Hip-Hop?
(MP) Our
ultimate goal is to run our own label, so we can show the world how
much musical talent is really out here. I grew up doing this rap shit
and met a lot of talented people who should have been on, including
myself!

lyrics you have rappers like Jay Z, Kanye, J Cole, Kendrick Lamar,
then you have trap and turn up music." (CP)
Currently, are you working on anything? If so can you tell us about
the project, were there any features or producers you worked with?
(MP)
I'm constantly recording so I'm always working on something. I've
been working on a new EP.
I already have forty new recorded tracks
that I plan on going through to put this new 'EP' together. Recently,
my daughter was born so I'm explaining my struggles as a father,
a provider for my family while still grinding with this rap shit.
(CP)What
is the illest line you ever spoke?
(MP) Hmmm,
I have so many lines. I've literally been rhyming forever its just
too many dope lines to name one.
(CP)
Some of the Clutch U staff is old Hip-Hop heads including myself. If
you could take one album with you new or old which album would that be?
Why?
(MP)The
album 'Nas I am.' That album was just too dope to me! One of the few
albums I can play top to bottom
(CP) What's
next for Microphone Preview are you doing any shows?
(MP) Right
now I'm focusing on building my buzz and brand. I've been working
with PO10NT
Department started by Jae Millz of 'YMCMB'while
grinding and promoting my label 'HOME
HIGH OFF MUSIC ENT.'

choose one word to describe yourself what would that word be? Why? (MP)HUNGRY!

(CP) How did you get the name
T.I.N.G Christ? Is there a meaning to the name?
(TC) T.I.N.G actually stands for “That
Intelligent Nigga Greg.” And Christ just means the anointed one. So I
threw them together.
(CP) How did you come up with the
concept for your current Mix tape? Could you name some producers that you've
worked with? Is there an album in the works?
(TC) I just really wanted to find myself
as an artist and show different styles. I came up with the title 'Do the
Right
T.I.N.G' a word play on the movie title 'Do the Right Thing'by
Spike Lee. The Mix-tape in terms of producers I worked with LV Beats which is a
Good
Looks Empire Producer, that’s like my lil bro, a producer that goes by
the name Gumbgu that I actually met via sound cloud. He is from Slovakia; I think
he is staying in Czech Republic now though. The last producer I have on there
is a kid that goes by the name Angel M.
Yes, there is an album in the works
Called “Can I Live”it’s all produced by my boy Brett Matthew, who is
very musically talented and our chemistry is impeccable. We just got the
project mastered by Senior Mastering Engineer Chris Gehringer from Sterling Sounds.
I am very excited to drop that project I think we really introduce a whole new
genre of Hip- Hop with some of the songs on the album.
(CP) How do you feel about the
state of Hip-Hop today? How is your music going to differ from the current
music that is out?
(TC) I feel it’s definitely
different, I don’t really know if it’s a bad thing or good thing. There’s some
new songs I hear and I really enjoy then there’s some I hear and I just don’t
understand how some of these artist “Make it” but music is music and everyone
is entitled to their own opinion. My music includes a lot of real sounds
like live guitars, pianos, and violins (I’ve played for 10 years, so I add my
own samples in some beats). And, I focus on my lyrics I try to outdo myself with
clever and witty bars. I really like Hip-Hop because I like to listen to rhymes
that make me go “oohhhhh” or “you heard what that he just said?”
(CP) What’s next for Ting
Christ? Are you doing any shows?
(TC) Right now I’m really
focusing on releasing this album the right way, I’ve been doing a lot of
reading and research on the industry and I want to make sure I’m doing this in
the most effective manor, because it is a business. As, for shows yes I
mean I’m sure I’ll get on some bills at some local shows. Also, for the Good
Looks Clothing Company I’m setting something up at this pop up shop in Richmond,
VA in the next couple of weeks. And we have A3C and SXSW coming up so
I’m definitely trying to hop on those bills too.
(CP) Describe T.I.N.Gs
style?
(TC) T.I.N.G
style is much “Lit” that’s some NY slang. But, it’s very true to myself
and it can be a mix of Educational rap talking about shit like Universal Laws
and name dropping people that will hopefully make the listener do some
research, and turn up Trippy rap because I do love to party and get trippy. My
homies call me the Trip God.
(CP) Can you tell our Clutch
readers something about Ting the people don't know?
(TC) People don’t know my father is legendary jazz drummer Greg Bandy
Senior so I was born into this music shit I’ve been in the studio with some
jazz legends at a very young age. And I am a reader. My biggest message to
people is read! If you’re reading this go look for a book called the ‘Kyballion,’
the teachings from Hermes Trismegistus. It’s deep. It’s real.
(CP) If you had the chance to create the ultimate album who would you get to feature on the album and what
producer's would you work with?
(TC)
I really have to say Kanye West and Lil Wayne; those two artists have a big
influence on why I took the Hip- Hop route as far as music is concerned. Some of the verses from
those two guys are unbelievable. And for producers I have to say Just Blaze and
Kanye. Also, I’ll have my people on it like Brett Mathew and LV Beats because
both of them are very talented producers.
(CP) Hip-Hop is about freshness
and creating your own unique clothing style. What does Ting Christ rock when
doing a show?
(TC) Whatever the hell I felt like wearing
that day. Honestly, some fly jeans, Selvedge denim, a Good Looks Tee, some J’s, Nikes, and New Balances that are a little dirty and beat up ha-ha.
Maybe, those old white hiking sandals with the straps because I’m about to
get a pair of those lol. I don’t care about my outfits I do this to send a
message, to control peoples moods with my words, make people feel good. Fuck
fashion, that shit got people enslaved man, a lot of those big designers
be racist as shit too.
(CP) Can you name some artist's
you listen to?
(TC) Besides myself Sam Siegel that’s
my bro he is a leader of theGood Looks Movement, Tshyne that’s my homie from
HOME Team, Perrion my other homie from HOME Team, AB Go Hard, Kanye, Lil Wayne
and I’ll listen to some new stuff if it’s on. TDE (Top Dawg Entertainment) is
fire, and I’m actually hype for Lupe Fiasco New project.

(TC)
I would say ‘Authentic’ it’s
straight from my heart and soul. My music comes from a place that I can’t even
describe, it’s genuine and you can hear/feel the passion in my words when they
come out that speaker over a beat that is for sure going to bang. I just want

Life Productions she is a huge part of the Good Looks Movement and a lot

up with Narcy a.k.a The Narcicyst to discuss his new EP titled ‘Leap of Faith,’

(CP) Within your biography on www.wikipedia.comit begins to state “The Narcycist an Iraqi -
Canadian Journalist and Hip-Hop MC, etc.” From your perspective do you see a difference
between the Hip-Hop culture in Iraq and the United States? If so could you
briefly describe the differences and the similarities?
(N) I never lived in Iraq. I used
to visit very frequently in the early 90’s and late eighties. I can speak on
Arabia in general vis-à-vis hip-hop more than anything. I think that hip-hop in
Arabia is approaching the golden age that we had in the West in the 90s. The
hyper-politicized realities of many of our countries have forced a lot of
artists into a social dialogue with their work, whereas a lot of us in the
Diaspora are speaking on the identity flux that exists between the two worlds.
Hip-Hop is really powerful. It allows you to SPEAK clearly to the audience. I
would say that in America there is definitely a fracture between the commercial
aspects of hip-hop and the cultural representations of the movement. There is
an overlap, but there is also a great difference between the polar extremes. In
America, there is more money in Hip-Hop. That eventually will shape the content
without disregard of where it comes from. So I would say that, in Arabia, it is
still growing, whereas in America, one could say its Dying or Thriving.
(CP) The music you construct often
has a political tone and touch on various Socio- topics. Why did you choose
Hip-Hop as your platform rather than going into the political arena?
(N) I would never want to be a
politician. I would like to believe I make commentary on my daily life, which
is sometimes influenced by the political arena. I no longer make political music;
I believe that is an oxymoron. Music brings people together, politics divides
them.
(CP) Here at Clutch Players University
we value consistency. What do you want to contribute to the culture of Hip-Hop
musically and socially?
(N) I hope that I help open the
lane for the ever-growing important voice of the modern day Arab. Our existence
in North America and the tie-in of our motherlands to the history of the world
and civilization deserves to be recognized, respected and flourished. That and
I hope I deliver some good music that stands the test of time.
(CP) What can the people expect next from
The Narcycist?
(N) I have a short
film called 'RISE' coming out soon, a new album I am working on and some new
multi-media projects lined up with several artists through my company The
Medium. I look forward to sharing more soon!
(CP) In your IPod what artists are in
The Narcycist playlist?
(N) Stevie Wonder and Radiohead
right now. (CP) Would you provide our readers a line
from one of your favorite compositions that you’ve created? And it’s meaning?
(N) “If a star dies in the sky
before I see one/ why would I teach kids to reach and try to be one”
This is from the title song off my
Leap of Faith EP. I’m saying that, let’s not feed the next generation false
dreams of celebrity and fame. Let them find themselves in the universe before
we project an idea of ‘success’ upon them.
(CP) In Hip-Hop, style is a unique identifier
of a person’s personality. When prepping for a show what apparel would Narcy wear?
(N) Oh man, every show is
different. But I definitely always need my Yassin Ring, and a bottle of Perrier
=)
(CP) Could you provide some words of
encouragement for the Clutch Players University, dreamers, or visionaries?
(N) As cliché as it is, be
yourself and believe. That’s how I created my dream job. Just aim and realize
nothing comes over night. Work hard, play hard, live hard and pray hard.

(CP) How did you get the name M.O.U.S.E?
Is there a meaning behind the name?
(M) I go by the name Mick I’m not that
tall. So, people would make fun of me and would say ‘You are small as a mouse’
or ‘Hey Mickey Mouse,’ I changed it to a positive and now everyone calls me ‘M.O.U.S.E.’
Even the ones who made fun of me is fans of mine. My name stands for ‘My Own Unique Style Everywhere.’ I feel
like I can adapt to any situation pertaining to hip hop music and make it my
own. It’s kind of like I’m forced to switch styles to fit in lanes, I love it
though.
(CP) How did you come up with the
concept for your Mixtape?
(M) Well ‘Air Maxes N Sweat Suits’ to me
means to be comfortable in your own fresh. Also, I wanted the sweat suit to
embody the material you will be receiving in the music. I’m comfortable
presenting this concept to new viewers and supporters now. And, we rock ‘Air Maxes
N Sweat Suits,’ in Indy a lot too I wanted that to be a part of the hip hop
culture like the 'Du rag, Air Force One’s, Door Knocker earrings, etc.'
(CP) Could you name some producer’s that
you've worked with for the Air Maxes N Sweat Suits Mixtape?
(M) I’ve worked with Clock Work Muzik
Group from Cleveland they did production for MGK, Freddie Gibbs, Ray Cash,
Killer Mike, Bone Thugs. And, B.Corder from Flint Michigan he has done work for
Currensy and the whole Jetlife along with Jim Jones too. Also, I’ve worked with
Justin Jay Beats from Los Angeles he sent me some beats out of nowhere and I
chose the right ones for this project. I didn’t work with any producer’s from Indianapolis
I wanted a brand new fresh sound.
(CP) What’s next for M.O.U.S.E? Are you
doing any shows?
(M) Yes, I’m always tryna’ to spread the brand. I currently just got
off tour with Lil Wyte of 36 Mafia and the team is currently working on my own
tour for ‘Air Maxes N Sweat Suits,’ I’m very excited about that. I’m working on
another project right now just to keep new material along with ‘Air Maxes N
Sweat Suits.’

(M) I have an east coast flow, a down
south bounce, and a Midwest swag. But I rep Indianapolis, Indy All Day!!!!!! It’s
weird but that’s ‘M.O.U.S.E’ my own unique style yo!!
(CP) You know the Basketball Finals are
approaching who would you like to see play? And who do you think will win
between Miami Heat and the Indiana Pacers?
(M) I really wanted to see Kobe against
Lebron but I’m a dreamer. As far as the Indiana Pacers & Miami Heat game
the Pacers clearly have the advantage due to size and defense. But, the Miami Heat
is defending champs and is hungry. I would like to say the Pacers but Lebron is
having a wonderful year...sorry Indy.
